abstract

in this paper, a novel method of producing bi-metallic alloy nanoparticles at low temperatures using hydrogen bombardment of thin films, deposited on glass substrates, is introduced. optical and morphological characteristics of the nanoparticles were extensively studied for various conditions of plasma treatment, such as plasma power density, temperature, duration of hydrogen bombardment, thickness of the initial thin metallic film etc. as an important application of fabricated alloy nanoparticles, humidity sensor based on the alloy nanoparticles was introduced. it was shown that ag-cu alloy nanoparticles ionizing ability of the fabricated alloy nanoparticle is higher than ag and cu nanoparticles. scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were used to analyze the nanostructures.

development of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles

a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...

Hydrogen treatment of TiO2 nanoparticles by DC plasma

In this work structural defects were created in P25-TiO2 nanoparticles by using hydrogen DC plasma treatment in different temperatures and exposure times. X-Ray diffraction measurements show that the structure of TiO2 remains unchanged after hydrogenation. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy measurements demonstrated band gap of TiO2 was not changed considerably by the hydrogenation. However, by a...

Low-Temperature Fabrication of Germanium-on-Insulator Using Remote Plasma Activation Bonding and Hydrogen Exfoliation

Low-temperature germanium to silicon wafer bonding was demonstrated by in situ radical activation and bonding in vacuum. After low temperature direct bonding of Ge to Si followed by annealing at 200 and 300 C, advanced imaging techniques were used to characterize the bonded interface. The feasibility of transferring hydrogen-implanted germanium to silicon with a reduced thermal budget is also d...

Sonochemical-Assisted Synthesis of Copper Oxide Nanoparticles and Its Application as Humidity Sensor

Cupric oxide nanostructures were synthesized via a simple reaction between copper nitrate and sodium hydroxide using a sonochemical-assisted method. The synthesized CuO was then characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared, ultraviolet-visible and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Our studies show that the CuO na...
